AUGUST 24, 2012: The Institute for Learning Innovation is closing its doors. After more than 20 years of dedicated service in research and evaluation to promote and enhance the field of free choice learning, ILI has concluded that it can no longer sustain its operations. ILI is in the process of working with its clients to ensure that their future needs are addressed through the orderly transition of ILI's work to others in the field. The Institute is proud of its long history of helping museums, libraries, and the many institutions that recognize learning across a lifetime as an essential human experience. The impact of its hundreds of vital studies and innovative projects has enabled institutions nationally and internationally to make confident and considered decisions in how best to serve their publics. The leadership of the Institute for Learning Innovation has been a catalyst to a growing field of visitor studies, a convener of professionals with shared expertise, and a disseminator of well-proven practices.

ILI is sorry to be closing its doors, but it sincerely trusts that its work will continue to open minds as it has through its long history.
